La suspensión como acto estético en las letras áureas

Vocablos referidos al hallarse fuera de uno mismo (“abandono,” “desafuero,” “pasmo,” “suspensión,” “enajenación,” “transposición,” “transportación,” “embeleso,” “turbación”) abundan tanto en la literatura del Siglo de Oro que resulta necesario analizar qué papel desempeña esta suspensión en la estética de la época. Este trabajo examina diversos testimonios filosóficos y estéticos del siglo XVII para relacionar la suspensión con la duda y la sorpresa, que el sujeto barroco entendía como la base de la creación artística y de la respuesta del receptor a esa creación. Ontology Matching with CIDER: evaluation report for OAEI 2011

CIDER is a schema-based ontology alignment system. Its algorithm compares each pair of ontology terms by, firstly, extracting their ontological contexts up to a certain depth (enriched by using lightweight inference) and, secondly, combining different elementary ontology matching techniques. In its current version, CIDER uses artificial neural networks in order to combine such elementary matchers. In this paper we briefly describe CIDER and comment on its results at the Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative 2011 campaign (OAEI’11). In this new approach, the burden of manual selection of weights has been definitely eliminated, while preserving the performance with respect to CIDER’s previous participation in the benchmark track (at OAEI’08)

On the Physical Meaning of the Isothermal Titration Calorimetry Measurements in Calorimeters with Full Cells

We have performed a detailed study of the thermodynamics of the titration process in an isothermal titration calorimeter with full cells. We show that the relationship between the enthalpy and the heat measured is better described in terms of the equation Δ H = Winj + Q (where Winj is the work necessary to carry out the titration) than in terms of ΔH = Q. Moreover, we show that the heat of interaction between two components is related to the partial enthalpy of interaction at infinite dilution of the titrant component, as well as to its partial volume of interaction at infinite dilution

Sudden transition to chaos in plasma wave interactions

The coherent three-wave interaction, with linear growth in the higher frequency wave and damping in the two other waves, is reconsidered; for equal dampings, the resulting three-dimensional (3-D) flow of a relative phase and just two amplitudes behaved chaotically, no matter how small the growth of the unstable wave. The general case of different dampings is studied here to test whether, and how, that hard scenario for chaos is preserved in passing from 3-D to four-dimensional flows. It is found that the wave with higher damping is partially slaved to the other damped wave; this retains a feature of the original problem an invariant surface that meets an unstable fixed point, at zero growth rate! that gave rise to the chaotic attractor and determined its structure, and suggests that the sudden transition to chaos should appear in more complex wave interactions

In this work we use a renormalized impact factor to analyze the time evolution of Latin American scientific journals from 1991 to 2000. Our analysis shows oscillant behavior in journals’ relevance in the international context in the last years.<br><br>En este trabajo usamos el factor de impacto renormalizado para obtener la evolución temporal de un indicador de relevancia de las revistas científicas latinoamericanas en el periodo de 1991 a 2000.
